Counties Cumbria League – Two games to go . . .

Published on

We have a 'bye' week this forthcoming Saturday, all very odd, when there are fourteen teams in the league, and we only play nineteen matches in total, nine at home and ten away . . . the mysteries of the the RFU will never cease to amaze! However with two games to go, we sit at the top of the league, 8 points clear of both Hawcoat Park and Carlisle, who both play this Saturday, with Hawcoat away at Workington, and Carlisle away at Cockermouth. This will probably leave us just 3 points clear with everyone having two games left to play. We are at home to Millom, on Saturday 11 April, with a full booking for pre match lunches and the match and ball to be sponsored by Oglethorpe Sturton & Gillibrand, Solicitors, so a busy day ahead. On the same day, Carlisle will be at home to Penrith II, and Hawcoat Park at home to Ambleside. Our last game of the season, on Saturday 18 April is away at Cockermouth, kick off 3pm. Probably a bus to be organised for this final match. And on this final Saturday, Carlisle will be away at Egremont, and Hawcoat Park away at Creighton.
