Our next chapter
Posted at h in Club NewsSince 1877 we have called Underley Park our home.
First on a grace and favour arrangement, then as a tenant and now we have purchased the 30 acre site. The purchase is with thanks to the hard work of our Club chairman and senior members of the club who have made it happen.
This marks the start of the next chapter in our rich history. With our Senior squad securing promotion to the Northern Premiership last season, our mini and youth, who produced 70% of the senior squad that went unbeaten, celebrating its 30th anniversary and the formation of our new academy to help develop our players to meet their potential, the purchase enables us to continue to develop the facilities we have on offer for all our players from the micros through to the senior teams. Our infrastructure development plans include;
- The completion of the 8 new changing rooms
- The upgrade and increased capacity of our clubhouse
- A fifth pitch
- An Artificial pitch
- Upgrade work on our existing pitches
- A new Grandstand and spectator areas
- Additional floodlighting to other pitches and training areas
All of which will underpin the great work our volunteers throughout the club do week in, week out. Further details of our plans, how they will be funded, how they will benefit the players, club and the local and rugby communities we are very much part of will be released in due course.
